About Me
Hi, Im Debbie. I am based on the Isle of Man, and meet clients face-to-face as well as via Zoom. I graduated after 4 years of studying at the esteemed Institute for Optimum Nutrition and am a qualified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner.
I am fully insured and registered with the two leading governing bodies for nutrition - the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and the Complementary and Natural Health Council (CNHC).
How it began
Nutrition has always been an exciting subject for me. I have always loved the idea of being able to help my body and mind and improve the health of my family by making small tweaks to our diet and lifestyle. I have 'dabbled' in nutrition for over 20 years but when a family member developed some health issues several years ago, I was determined to find ways to help through diet and supplements. I was amazed at the speed and positive impact of some small changes and although this was really encouraging, I felt confused by so many mixed messages and wanted to learn more evidence based information. I immersed myself in the world of nutrition and soon realised that I could make a career helping and educating others to live and feel better.
My Ethos
After 4 years of studying, I have developed the tools required to analyse and critically appraise the latest research, in order to make sound conclusions based on scientific evidence. I have learned the importance of Nutritional Therapy as a holistic approach to better health, investigating the person as a whole and not simply their symptoms, in order to reach the root cause of their issues. Nutritional therapy is not a replacement for conventional medical treatment, but it can play an incredibly important role in your journey to better health.
